Ajax Programming

Simultaneous active connections

I have a general question regarding how many server side requests can
be made using AJAX.

I was told that only two can be made, HTTP 1.0 and HTTP 1.1.

What I would like is to have multipe connections to various servers
using AJAX.   Is that possible?   Where do I go for more resources on
the subject?

Thanks!

Ajax can not do cross domain so you can not go to outside servers. You can
only have 2 connections open with IE at a time.

Is there a workaround without modifying the registry to take more than
2?
