Description:   Capacity Planning: Network Forecasting and Planning

Description
The Specialist Capacity Planning (Network Forecasting and Planning)- will focus on network forecasting and network planning. Knowledge of methods for network modelling and network traffic analysis is required. Ability to develop usage profiles develop assessments of bandwidth requirements for applications is desired. Knowledge of NetQos and Concord eHealth tools are desired. The person in this role should have in depth understanding of application network behavior concepts and TCP/IP. A background in telecommunications may be helpful.

Responsibilities
Assist in the formulation of business requirements, technology solutions and directions for capacity planning.
Manage projects for applications and systems, or systems management. Assure performance and quality objectives are achieved.
Develop, recommend and implement planning tools used for system, application and network capacity planning.
Work with cross-functional teams to provide recommendations.
Review existing systems metrics and provide forecasts to management regarding systems requirements.

Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
    a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
    approximately 5-7 years of related work experience in system and capacity planning
    extensive knowledge of and/or experience with system architecture
    excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and project management skills
    strong analytical ability
    ability to assimilate information into an actionable model and plan
    ability to work effectively with clients, management and staff members
