Senior Network Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

-Supporting the company as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting and resolving telecommunication and network issues.
-Analyzing problems; diagnoses probable cause; provide troubleshooting solutions for the following protocols and technologies: IP addressing (CIDR and VLSM), routing protocols (BGP, HSRP, and EIGRP), VPNs, load balancing, QOS, Layer 2 LAN technologies including but not limited to Ethernet (Switched, FastE and GigE), Spanning-Tree, VLANs, VTP, trunking (802.1q and ISL) WAN technologies including dial-up, T-1, T-3, frame relay.
-Documenting problems and solutions for future troubleshooting assistance. Recognizes repeat problems and investigates solutions.
-Escalating problems to the appropriate resource including vendors and Telco carriers for problem resolution.
-Deploying, configure, and monitor network equipment, network usage and systems availability
-Providing network management support for event identification, event correlation, event escalation and event triage as related to network infrastructure utilizing network management tools, MRTG, etc.
-Delivering network-related projects with guidance and direction from the Director of Technology and System Services.
-Provide IP telephony and legacy PBX support company-wide.

Required Skills:

-Demonstrated experience with Cisco products (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, etc.)
-Demonstrated experience with supporting medium to large Cisco networks in a distributed environment.
-Experience with Cisco Call Manager 3.3.x and higher, Cisco Unity
-Understanding of Codec and bandwidth requirements for VoIP.
-Experience supporting (possibly upgrading) a medium to large installation of Cisco IP Phones.

-Experience with Cisco IP IVR (Cisco Internet Protocol-Based Interactive Voice Response)
-Experience designing, configuring, and implementing call center architecture.
-Knowledge of SQL and Active Directory a plus.
-MRTG and PEARL scripting knowledge
